The Hogwarts Bridge: How a Piece Full of Detail Is Painted, in 5 Steps

Some places don't need an introduction

The Hogwarts Bridge is one of those iconic corners that instantly takes you back to the Wizarding World. Every arch, every stone and every weathered detail has been recreated to capture the atmosphere and magic of this unforgettable place.

In the Instagram carousel we tell it in five steps. Here we explain them one by one.

Bridge of the Magical Castle — The Hogwarts Bridge: How a Piece Full of Detail Is Painted, in 5 Steps

Step 1: base print

Everything starts with a uniform base. The base print leaves the piece with an even colour and helps the paint adhere better in the following steps.

Step 2: base colours

Then the general colours are applied: the tones of the wood of the roof and the structure and those of the stone supports. This is when the piece starts to look like a real bridge.

Step 3: shading

With washes, that is, very diluted layers of paint, the shadows that define the details are marked: the gaps in the arcades, the joints of the stone and the grain of the wood.

Step 4: highlights

With a dry brush, a lighter tone is passed over the edges and the textures. This gives the borders and reliefs volume and lets them catch the light.

Step 5: final details

The last step is the one that brings realism: moss, weathering and small finishing touches. On the roof you can see small accumulations that simulate leaves and the passing of time.

Three details that make it special

Detailed arches: shadows and lighting to enhance the depth. Realistic textures: moss and weathering for a more authentic look. And stone with character: an aged-stone effect and natural shading.

As our carousel says, the magic is also in the details.

The piece

Bridge of the Magical Castle measures 19 cm long, 4 cm wide and 6 cm high. It is made of ultra-detailed premium resin, with an aged stone and wood finish. Each piece is made by hand, so it may show slight variations that make it even more special.
